Sobre Sonix
Sonix is an audio & video transcription solution that enables businesses to transcribe, organize and search video and audio files. The fully automated software is able to transcribe 30 minutes of audio or video in approximately 3-4 minutes, for industries that require quick and stress-free transcription services.
As automated transcripts are not 100% accurate, Sonix allows the reviewing and editing of transcripts, with features including the AudioText editor which allows users to polish a transcript whilst listening to the audio, and word confidence levels which highlight words that may need extra review due to low confidence during the transcription process. The user can also highlight and strikethrough the transcript to quickly find areas of focus later.
Sonix facilitates uploading and importing of videos and audio, with tools for allowing the user to drag and drop files from their local computer or have the software transcribe files stored on Google Drive and Dropbox. To aid with review, text and audio is synchronized to allow the user to click on any part of the transcript and play the audio from that exact moment.
Every word within transcripts is automatically indexed so that the user can jump to the exact moment when something was said in the file. Users can also slow down or speed up playback to simplify and ease the editing process. The high confidence words are shown in black while the low ones are highlighted in orange, so that the user know where to focus their attention when editing. The user can download a section of the audio by selecting that area of text, and Sonix allows the export of transcripts into various formats such as Microsoft Word and text file.

Fue excelente, me ayudó a adelantar el proceso de edición de las transcripciones de las entrevistas de mi disertación y de un grupo focal del plan estratégico de la organización en la que laboro.
Puntos a favor
Lo que más me gustó de Sonix, fue que pude hacer una buena diferenciación de voces entre el entrevistado y el entrevistador. De igual manera, fue sumamente fácil editar los texto de las transcripciones. Aunque transcribió bastante bien; pero, había que editar el documento con las palabras que la IA de Sonix no transcribía correctamente. Reproducir y editar el texto fue bastante llevadero; porque Sonix ofrece una gran facilidad para esto. De verdad, lo volvería a utilizar, lo usé más para entrevista.
Pero Sonix ayuda mucho y facilita el proceso. Lo usé para los participantes de mi disertación y para un grupo focal del plan estratégico de mi institución. Lo he recomendado para que la institución pueda adquirir la licencia.
Desventajas
En el caso de que se use para grupo focales, en que hablen más de cuatro personas, se puede seguir mejorando en el reconocimiento de voces de los participantes y el entrevistador.
Falta mejorar reconocimiento de voces en los participantes.

Puntos a favor
The initial trial (which was free and did NOT require any payment information from me in order to try it out), provided more than enough insight into the software's functionality & quality. From the first upload, Sonix provided me with the most quality transcription I'd ever seen. I've tried multiple transcription services in the past; Sonix provided quality results, has an easy to navigate platform, and seamlessly connected with Zoom (my primary method for recording conversations) - an added bonus.
Desventajas
One *very* minor complaint is the speed by which recording is transcribed, but for the quality it’s worth the wait. Other than that small thing, there’s really nothing I dislike about the software, but there are a couple of improvements and/or additions I’d like to see.
First, a direct recording & transcription function built into the Sonix.ai platform (something like a speech to text function). This would be tremendously useful for me – especially if it extended to a mobile app and/or mobile site (to help capture those “organic” / “on the fly” conversations that happen so often throughout the day).
Second (and I’m not sure this is even possible but raising it nonetheless), would be the ability to upload zoom meeting links (to have them transcribed) that I don’t own, but that I have access to.

Living in the UK I used this to transcribe a 2 hour discussion about local history. Lapel mics meant it was a good quality recording. When selecting the language of the audio I chose English. The only option had a USA flag. I wonder if results might be better with an American voice?
After paying $20 - a price I was happy to pay - I have a long transcript of rubbish. It bears little resemblance to the audio!
I will finish with an example.
"He has two daughters lovely visited the farm. So it's going to be what for either one of them but it also has a bungalow that he built ice and knock knock her way in Castle Rock selection for a while. I'm on my best friend from schools from Casa Loma, so, I don't know but I don't know that I don't know the name. Well, it's just one of those it was country."
Puntos a favor
Easy to set up account and upload audio file. Good range of pricing options including for occasional user. Speed of results. A two hour interview (lapel mics for the 2 speakers) was back to me inside the hour.
Desventajas
The most important bit - very inaccurate typed record. Correcting it would take me much longer than starting and finishing the job myself.
