Puntos a favor

Puntos a favor

Puntos a favor
Basado en Git, bitbucket permite mergear o generar pull request y hacer seguimiento de versiones de manera sencilla.
Desventajas
Al ser entorno visual, algunas acciones son más lentas que si usasemos la consola de comandos de Git.

A good free alternative to github
Revisado el 24/12/2019
I've been using it now for 6 years and it's my main repo host for work. I can recall only two times where there was a downtime that affected me, but besides that, there's never been a problem with them.
Puntos a favor
I like how robust their website is on terms of pull requests and integrations with JIRA and other atlassian products. You can store private repo's and manage it. The pull Request feature is the strongest in my opinion, with reviews and linking to JIRA. So it automatically can close tickets once you merge/accept a pull request. If you link the commits with a JIRA issue it also updates with them. They recently simplified the UI and their own home made SourceTree Visual App has received some substantial upgrades over the years and it's one of the best tree-based git history apps out there. In all honesty, it's a simple git control hosting website you can use online or host by yourself. It's really good.
Desventajas
The UI used to change a lot but now they've settled. Sometimes, compared to github, processing big pull requests (loading the changes/previewing) can be a little slow. Sometimes the integrations with JIRA, can feel like a miss if you don't use it, because Github has a lot of those features that Github might miss.

An easy and fast way to keep track of your elements and their modifications.
Revisado el 13/2/2021
Bitbucket is a very useful version control tool, easy to master and with many useful tools that will help you speed up your work, of course it has certain shortcomings that could be improved over time, but at the end of the day it is a tool very useful.
From the most basic to the most complex options, you will find them extremely useful in your day to day work to get ahead.
Puntos a favor
Bitbucket has a very friendly interface that is easy to understand and understand, it allows you to maintain control and order of all your elements and keep track of each modification that was made and by whom said modification was made.
It allows you to establish different types of permissions as necessary to have a better control of who can perform what actions within the repositories that are created in bitbucket.
Once you get familiar with the tool, everything is easy to do and locate any option you are looking for to carry out your tasks.
Desventajas
Sometimes the way it provides you to search within each repository can be somewhat cumbersome, requiring you to write the exact name of the component you may be looking for in order to show you a result, making the searches more strenuous since you must know the exact name of the component or it will be very difficult to find it.
In some cases, when versioning certain changes, Bitbucket interprets them as a total change within the component and shows as if the file was being completely modified even if you are only modifying some lines of code.

A Robust Platform for Code Collaboration and Management
Revisado el 6/2/2023
Bitbucket is a widely used version control platform that provides a comprehensive set of features for managing code changes, including support for both Git and Mercurial version control systems, a user-friendly graphical interface, integration with popular CI/CD tools, code review and pull request features, and deployment management capabilities. Many teams find Bitbucket to be a useful tool for collaborating on code changes and managing their codebase.
Puntos a favor
Bitbucket include its support for both Git and Mercurial version control systems, its user-friendly graphical interface, its integration with popular CI/CD tools, its code review and pull request features, and its deployment management capabilities.
Desventajas
On Bitbucket, limitations on the free plan, limited scalability for large enterprises, and limited support for some of the latest technologies and tools. Additionally, some users may prefer other version control platforms over Bitbucket based on their specific needs and requirements.

Started as a great product, but I got disappointed
Revisado el 8/1/2020
Brilliant from 7 years go until approx 3 years ago. Painful to use for the last 3 years and we are currently migrating everything to GitHub.
Puntos a favor
We started implementing version control using Mercurial about 7 years ago (in my own company). On the advice of a colleague at the time we used Mercurial as opposed to Git. Bitbucket worked perfectly with Mercurial when we needed it at the time and really helped our business. It was fast easy to use and understand and the online UI kept getting better and better.
Desventajas
In the last 3 years, pushing and pulling and doing any kind of actions became tediously slow. I copied some of the repos to GitHub and converted to Git to check it was not a problem with my repo, with my computer, or with the software I was using (SourceTree). In all cases the only difference was using a Mercurial versus Git repo on BitBucket. I got no response to my support query, and no response to a forum post as to the issue and when it would be fixed. I then made a decision for our entire company to move all of it's repos to GitHub and stop using BitBucket - we are doing this right now. Approx 1 year after the decision was made, BitBucket emailed all it's customers to say they would be discontinuing support for Mercurial as not enough of their customer base used it. However there was no suggestion of helping migrate all repos to Git, no support docs on how to do this and honestly this was too little too late for us. We had become so annoyed with BitBucket that we would have migrated regardless.

Version control and deployment is made easier..
Revisado el 16/2/2023
Very happy with the overall performance of the application starting from creating repositories, adding permissions, version control to deployment automation
Puntos a favor
Checking in the source code everyday helps save all the work from being erased accidentally. Also multiple people can work on shared code and still merge the changes when required. Deployments can be automated integrating bitbucket with jenkins and has been very helpful with triggered deployment builds
Desventajas
It is not possible to get back a deleted repository which is trouble incase it is accidentally deleted. Also a branch created does not show where it is created from directly which sometimes creates confusion

Good tool for Source code management
Revisado el 4/3/2023
Overall, Bitbucket is an excellent solution for those who are looking for an efficient and effective way to manage their code repositories and collaborate with their teams.
Puntos a favor
It is a web-based hosting service a platform for code repository management. It offers a range of powerful features such as code review tools, support for Git and Mercurial version control systems, and built-in continuous integration and deployment pipelines. It also seamlessly integrates with other Atlassian products such as Jira and Confluence.
Desventajas
It could also benefit from better performance for large repositories, improved support for third-party integrations, and more robust user permissions management. Additionally, better documentation and tutorials would help new users get up to speed quickly.

Bitbucket Review
Revisado el 16/2/2023
I used Bitbucket for over a year for application development, continuous integration, integrated development environment (IDE), and source code management, and overall, I found it to be an excellent tool for team collaboration.
Puntos a favor
The most pleasing aspect of Bitbucket is how easy it is to collaborate with other team members. The code merging process is smooth and easy to understand, which is essential for ensuring quality development. Additionally, I appreciated the ability to create private repositories to securely store my source code.
Desventajas
One negative aspect I encountered is the lack of user interface customization. While the interface is clear and easy to use, it doesn't offer much flexibility in terms of customization, which can make the user experience a bit dull in the long term.

Simple SCM Tool
Revisado el 9/11/2022
Overall Bitbucket is good, earlier I used to perform all my changes in code using Bitbucket only. The best part is Bitbucket allows to integrate with JIRA and confluence so that we can easily track the progress of work.if you are a beginner I would really suggest you to go through with Bitbucket without a single thought. Bitbucket is only a source code management tool but GitHub performs as source code management as well as CI tool so for experienced person/user, Bitbucket will not do everything. I used Bitbucket more than 2 years and I can say my overall experience is good with Bitbucket, its up to users what features they want accordingly they can choose.
Puntos a favor
Bitbucket is a good version control system, one can easily create branches, delete branches, commit code, merge code and many more. For a beginner it's a good tool to learn about git and to do practice. The advantage of Bitbucket is you can integrate it with project management tools such as JIRA, also you integrate Bitbucket with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins that is the most likeable feature of Bitbucket. Bitbucket is free for single user, so one can do practice easily during learning phase.
Desventajas
Prices are bit high for paid version, Bitbucket provide free version to only <=5 employees, for companies with more than five employees Bitbucket does not provide free service. Also Bitbucket features are outdated as compare to GitHub, GitHub provides lot of extra features as compare to Bitbucket. Sometimes while switching from one section to other Bitbucket was slow.

Our Git and CI/CD environment of choice
Revisado el 5/8/2022
Bitbucket is in charge of most of our Git repositories, and we barely had a problem in 10 years. Recommended.
Puntos a favor
The product is quite easy to use, tough user and project management on different projects can be a little confusing. Widely used and integrated with a lot of external services. I especially liked the seamless integration with Vercel to publish NexstJs projects without any problem - usually quite hard to configure. Free tier gives you a lot of space and options, nobody else does.
Desventajas
Account management could be improved. The border between free tier and payment version is not always easy to understand.

Market leading product by Atlassian
Revisado el 30/7/2019
Overall Bitbucket is a great platform for professional developers for personal and commercial use.
Puntos a favor
I have been using Bitbucket (personally and commercially) for couple of years and I'm really satisfied with the services and features that they offer. Letting free users create unlimited repos and allowing up to five users is a good way to go, which attracts more users. Pull requests helps to get code reviewed by experts and get them approve before it available for others and helps to maintain quality code leading to quality software. More useful features like Pipeline lets user to deploy/release more often.
Desventajas
As a market leader, pricing plans can be adjusted to attract more

We use Bitbucket for our small team
Revisado el 10/12/2020
First of all we keep track of over 100 project source codes with bitbucket, it has no limit. WIth two teams of 5 developers, we are using bitbucket for free with all the features we need. It does it's job good enough.
Puntos a favor
First of all it is free for small team. For bigger teams it has really reasonable prize. I personally love and prefer Atlassian's products such as Bitbucket, Trello. The Atlassian team behind the product continuously improves their products. Since I started using Bitbucket 5 years ago, they added many features. It has no limitation and pretty good integration with trello, jira and other project management products.
Desventajas
Fortunately, during the last 5 years we didn't face any difficulties using Bitbucket. It works pretty well with my team. But keep-in mind that free version is only for 5 developers for a team.

Easily manage multiple private projects within a team
Revisado el 4/6/2022
Overall I'm pretty satisfied with Bitbucket. Once again I'd like to highlight the fact that giving private repositories was a blessing for early-stage startups who keeps an eye on every $$ spent. The integrations with products like JIRA just make it an excellent choice over any other competitor products.
Puntos a favor
I liked the option of creating private repositories for free in Bitbucket. Github has also started giving this now but Bitbucket is a pioneer in this. The team collaboration is excellent having complete visibility of individuals. JIRA integration is also very powerful. Developers can easily mark the task completed from one place itself.
Desventajas
Small things like solving merge conflicts from the UI would help senior engineers not to go through the IDE. It also gets slow at a certain point. It takes a lot of time in merging the conflicts.

One of the best version control tool
Revisado el 14/10/2022
We're using Bitbucket for more than 8 years. We selected bitbucket because it has free plans and supports private repo with the free plans. Once the company started growing, we purchased paid plan because it has additional features like rule & permission settings. It is very important with a larger team.
Another important thing we liked is the integration with Jira. Software tester can report issues to Jira, and the development team can create a new branch for fixing/creating issues/features.
Puntos a favor
Easy to integrate with existing projects. Because it is based on the git version control system. So no bitbucket-specific tool is required. This makes it easier to set up a development system.
Desventajas
Sometimes, we experienced issues when creating PR. This is usually due to their server issue. But they inform the status by mail (if we subscribed)

Complete solution for code versioning
Revisado el 31/12/2019
With Bitbucket I have the security of keeping my project versioned and with that I can develop without fear. Sharing with team members makes the process simple and efficient.
Puntos a favor
With Bitbucket I can have many private projects and all Git features. I can create project teams by assigning different permissions to each one. The ability to view code in the web interface itself allows for quick checks. You can also check the differences of each commit. Integration with SourceTree is a breeze.
Desventajas
If you use the tool with the default flow, you will have no problems. However, in some situations it is a little difficult to correct. I already had problems that the tool claimed problems in login while all the information was correct.

Bitbucket has been the first choice for me for a couple of years.
Revisado el 21/12/2019
Bitbucket has always been trustworthy. The product is stable, with no major flaws. They have great documentation and customer support.
Puntos a favor
The free plan is great a small development studio or freelancers. It offers unlimited private repos with up to 5 users. The private plans are better than what Github has to offer, at least for small teams. Great Trello and Jira integration. It is still a privately owned company.
Desventajas
Bitbucket has less adaptation than the main competitor Gitbub, due to the open-source community. That sometimes is a downside when collaborating with external entities.

Great tool, automation docs could be better
Revisado el 14/1/2020
Once you get the hang of Bitbucket, it is easy to use and a very good visualizing tool for what you are doing with your repositories.
Puntos a favor
Bitbucket has a good UI and is very good for most of the repository related tasks. It has JIRA integration, so if you put your JIRA ticket numbers in the commit message, Bitbucket will link the pull requests into JIRA. This makes it very easy to access commits and the associated JIRA tickets from bitbucket itself, and vice versa.
It has good branch visualization tools. It lets you select branches from a drop down and compare them with other source barnches. The diff visualizer is pretty good too. It even has good graphical icons to show which branches have been merged/rebased where.
You can use command line git to manage repos as well. With their REST APIs it is possible to create repositories from the command line, which is very useful in cases where you have to do the tedious task of creating hundreds of repositories very similar to one another.
Desventajas
I was unable to find documentation on their APIs to set group and permissions access restrictions from the command line. This was required because we needed to create 100s of repos and allow our users to access them. Because we could not find API documentation easily and were in a time crunch, we had to have developers spend several days manually granting permissions using the web-console. Bitbucket should have these APIs clearly visible and documented.
