My overall experience after signing up for the software has been very good. The only hiccup I have had doesn't have to do with Counsol.com but instead with the individual insurance companies. I have received excellent support from my customer service representative at Counsol.com

The ease of use across multiple devices has been extremely helpful during the pandemic. The features within the software are intuitive and solved many of the problems I was having using a paper chart. I also liked that the clearing house they use to submit claims has been established in the industry for a long time. The integrated payment options have been a great time saver.

Desventajas

At first there were a few issues were not working well for me and my practice. This wasn't a problem for the developers at Counsol.com. They have resolved the issues and added features that I asked for. Having an online system is great because the modifications are available right away!

Very user friendly and simple to use. I shopped around quite a bit before I decided on Counsol. After reviewing other options, I went with Counsol because it was very user friendly and the pricing was fair

I wish there was a mobile app for which I could download from an app store (like when I am using it on an ipad, for example).

My notes are getting done quicker bc it's easier to get them done, I've realized although it's cheaper and there are some features that are better than my old product, it's not as professional as my old product and doesn't offer as many resources for measures that I would use as a LCSW

The intake measures aren't pulled into the initial intake note. This doesn't create a professional looking intake note like the other system I used. No ability to write a formal short note about a phone session, or missed sessions when you void the invoice you can't document it. Can't send attachments in an email via this site that I don't want to make available to all clients. The billing feature pages are very confusing and can be very overwhelming. The measures offered are limited and personally I don't want to have to input them and/or recreate them and it doesn't allow me to send specific measures to individual clients. It's like a one size fits all with this product.

Overall, the experience has been positive but I would like to see more features and updates for client and clinician experience.
Reviewing the guide, making changes to my practice documentation, etc., takes a lot of dedicated time, which I don't always have. This is somewhat tedious and challenging for those of us who aren't versed in building all of the forms from scratch.
I'm grateful for the built-in e-signature feature.

I appreciate the LIVE customer support (WITH AN ACTUAL HUMAN) of my account manager, which has helped me easily navigate the platform when stuck. The account manager has been consistently readily available and responsive, and they're generally very patient and helpful.
The user guide is also an excellent resource.

Desventajas

I wish the platform had more offerings to enhance the client and provider experience, such as https://www.teleo.space/ or note designer. Partnerships like this would be ideal.
I don't particularly like the treatment notes template; I would like one similar to Notedesigner, for example, with more options for the sentence completion and treatment modalities etc.
I would also like to see mini-tutorials on using the platform most efficiently. Sometimes, I don't always have the time to look through my user guide. For example, if I want to send an announcement to certain clients but not all, how do I do that?
I also wish I could include hyperlinks in my documents when sending to clients. In addition, having a 'schedule send' option for emailing clients and sending out pre-scheduled announcements about any of my practice changes or new services would be an excellent feature.
Having my clients recieve notification of my social media or new posts from my website via CounSol is another missing feature that would enhance client engagement, retention and education too.
The client view of the platform: While I appreciate how the colors are similar to my website, it looks dated and could use sharper, more updated, professional and modern visuals to enhance the client experience.

It can be tricky when you have multiple rates for your client database. I needed help from customer support and Josh spent quality time helping me with this.

I have had a negative experience in the recent year or so with CardConnect customer service. When I first began using CounSol as a business owner (5+ years ago), the customer service was excellent and it was easy to see why CounSol would partner with CardConnect. In the last year, I have had to call as a result of not receiving payouts for the merchant processor. In these calls, it's loud and the representatives do not speak English well which complicates resolving problems and communicating those problems efficiently. They basically repeat everything I say then put me on hold. It's a lengthy process and, each time I ask why the money was not deposited, they do not provide an answer - it's hard to tell if this is because they do not know or if it's because they are not sure how to communicate that. It makes me unhappy to feel like I can't trust that the deposits will be made.

I have really appreciated CounSol on the whole and value their customer support, ease of set up, prioritization of protecting client information, and overall security I feel using the product.

- Have not experienced concerns around HIPAA compliance, meeting ethical standards around confidentiality, and/or price gouging experienced with other competitors
- Ease of managing client files

- Antiquated look
- Clients do not like using the portal as much because it feels dated
- Wish there were easier ways to incorporate assessments into client files

In case you don't already know, custom forms can be used to incorporate assessments into client files allowing the practice or the client to complete all types of questionnaires and assessments from your counsol account or client portal. These can even include automatic scoring and can be assigned automatically based on session or client type. If there are specific assessments you'd like to incorporate, please send a template to your account manager so that we can have these added for you.

It is fairly user-friendly, and there was a lot of help getting started by the account manager.

I feel that after years of using, there have not been many, if any, updates to the functionality. So, I question why I'm paying the same monthly subscription fee after years of use when it's not funding improvements. This would be the same with any EHR though.

Thanks for the review, Matt! Counsol is implementing new feature updates and improvements all the time though many simply go under the radar. Since our origination, all new features introduced have been requested by our members.

If there are any features you are interested in specifically, please let your account manager know so that we can create a feature request for you or add your name to one that already exists. That way you can be kept up-to-date when relevant releases are made available to you. Feature requests are prioritized based on popularity and ability to implement.

Additionally, even though our prices have raised some over the years, we have never raised prices for our existing members - so even when new tools become available on the platform, your rates have never increased!

Since internship, I have used CounSol for all my private practice admin needs - from keeping clinical notes, to having a secure portal to offer my clients, and now most recently, for billing purposes. Can't imagine using anything else.

What I like most about council.com is that it is highly encrypted and that you can actually type your notes while you’re in session with a client that saves hours of time.

What I liked least was to having to enter all of my forms manually into the system that may have changed now however, once everything was entered, was very easy to use from that point

Desventajas

Sometimes the telehealth video is not clear, and not sure it is Counsol.com's fault. I cannot amend progress notes if needed.

I've enjoyed all things about Counsol. I can trust it's as secure it can be. It's easy to use for myself, my interns, and my clients.

I'm a virtual therapist. I have to use all the integrated features. It seems they've thought of everything, from scheduling, meeting in a secure chat room, billing, and note keeping. My clients feel secure meeting with me in this program. They can easily pay for their sessions, keep a secure journal, access worksheets I upliad for them and send me encrypted messages if they choose.

Desventajas

I wish I could command a sync of the calendar to my external Google calendar. I have to wait for that to happen and sometimes I need it sooner.

Counsol makes a lot of things quite easy. There are ways to customize just about everything and there are a lot of things that are already in there for you, like forms and templates. Their customer support has been very responsive and my experiences with getting the help I need have been extremely positive.

Desventajas

Sometimes it is quite confusing (particularly at first). And sometimes one cannot understand certain features, particularly around insurance billing. It would actually be nice if it wasn't a third party doing the insurance billing because that also complicates matters and makes it more expensive.

10+ Years with CounSol

I have been with CounSol since 2012, and have never regretted the decision. Their products are al la carte, and their referral program can't be beat! I have had the same account manager since joining CounSol, and he has always been helpful and responsive. The company is also locally based to me (Central FL), which is a nice bonus.

Other platforms don't integrate with them as well because they are a smaller, less known company.

As a first-time solo practitioner and user of my own EHR, I had no understanding of the payment processing feature. This was the most frustrating aspect because I inadvertently filled something out wrong and got stuck in a reoccurring attestation loop with Cardpointe every 3 MONTHS. Some practical guidance from the assigned representative upon signing up with CounSol would have been greatly appreciated.
