We've been using Employment Hero for more than two years now. We started with one entity and then decided to move all our entities to it. The HR and Payroll platforms are very easy to navigate. We very much benefited from the Cost Centre Reporting and integrating that with our Bookkeeping software made our reporting very easy. The HR platform is our employees first point of contact to find any data about our organisation, policies and procedure, agreements... etc. On top of that most of our employees are finding it much easier to track their Leave balances and status through the mobile app.
The Online Support is very quick in general and there is always a solution to any query we put through to the team,
Overall, a great deal to our organisation!

Most likeable feature we found in the system for our organisation is the easy integration of our Bookkeeping software and the ability to import the payroll journal. That made our cost centre reporting very easy and accurate.

Desventajas

It would be great if it can be linked to the Outlook Calendar!

My overall experience with Employment Hero has been good.

I’ve been using Employment Hero since 2016, right from their very beginning, and it’s been amazing to see how much they’ve improved over the years. It’s clear that they take customer feedback seriously, which is why I believe it’s so important to keep sharing our experiences.

After a five-year break in my career, I returned to work in Australia and switched from another HR system over to Employment Hero and I can see that they have some new features even some of the issues we were facing 5 years ago still there.

But overall it's a great system and the customer support normally is immediate and very helpful.

Easy to navigate and integrates everything we need.

Desventajas

That's there's a lot of settings in both HR and Payroll and sometimes it gets confusing. Also my employees have access to both because in order to use rosters they need access to Payroll and sometimes they are entering timesheets in both systems and overlapping, etc.

Not an all in one product - you'll still need an ATS and LMS

The Swag app is very easy to use especially for our employees who don't work in front of the PC. It would be great if employees could do everything off the app. Wish it would work for the learning module. The app is not entirely comprehensive. Customer support was awesome. Now it seems harder to actually get to an actual person. You're referred to HeroAI with no way to get passed it to a real person.

Desventajas

EH is completely let down by their learning management system which is a GO1 product. GO1 is a nightmare to use. The UI looks dated. Can't easily search for a course you've created. The reports are not useful. To get reports for multiple courses, you have to run one for each individual course. While you're creating a course and your mouse runs off the form, it completely disappears with your form. Amongst other things. The process is not user friendly.

Also, the recruitment function in EH is not great so you really need an ATS on top of this. It's not intuitive. You can't preview Word documents so you really need to download every Word CV to have a look at them. Not intuitive in how you move from CV to CV. It's not a all in one system.

We also use EH's sister company Employment Innovations for payroll processing. They have made multiple mistakes. When confronted the impression I get is they're always defensive. The attitude is not "No worries, we'll work together and get this sorted" but "it must be something you did".

My overall experience with Employment Hero has been very positive. The platform is user-friendly and makes managing HR tasks much more efficient, from payroll to employee management. I especially appreciate the self-service features, which empower employees to manage their own information and requests. The compliance tools are another plus, helping us stay on top of regulations. The only challenge we faced was the setup of our complex Enterprise Bargaining Agreement (EBA), which took a bit longer than anticipated. However, once it was properly configured, the system has performed smoothly and reliably. Overall, Employment Hero has streamlined our processes and saved us time.

What I liked most about Employment Hero is how it simplifies HR & Payroll processes while offering a user-friendly platform. It integrates everything from payroll to employee management in one place, which makes it easy to handle everyday tasks efficiently. The self-service portal for employees is a great feature too—it empowers staff to manage their own information and leave requests without having to go through HR every time. Desventajas

The only downside I've experienced with Employment Hero is that setting up our complex Enterprise Bargaining Agreement (EBA) took longer than expected. Due to the intricacies of our specific agreement, the setup process required more time and effort to ensure everything was accurate. However, once configured, the system has run smoothly. This would likely be less of an issue for businesses with simpler agreements.

Very helpful with initial set up, outstanding customer service. Some glitches here and there but constantly growing and improving the system day by day.

I also appreciate that payroll becomes a lot simpler now, especially when they want to get their payment breakdown when it comes to their salary, allowance and commissions.

Desventajas

The flowover from the two websites and certain limitations because of the linkage of 2 websites. I would appreciate if more features were available in the app instead of just desktop/website version.

First few years were great, great features and customization. The last couple have seen it deteriorate considerably. To be honest, I wouldn't be to fussed about the other features that were promised, such as dimensions and journals, being a mess if the support and customer service was adequate. Go with one of the others, you'll thank me later

It has so much potential or had so much potential. The inhouse customisation was brilliant. Use to have great customer service.
It seems like each update they do makes it worse. Definitely not suited to slightly complicated to complicated businesses. I have 15 years experience in payroll and never had so many issues with getting support.

Desventajas

Support - Takes days, sometimes weeks for urgent replies in the payroll system. Cannot help confirm compliance when the ATO comes knocking. Basically said too bad so sad.
The reporting features are terribly limited, doesn't calculate payments made in same pay periods like Xero and a lot of the other available software. Requires manual calculation of Tax, Super, Leave accruals when doing Adhoc payruns. Leaves room for human error and is thus at risk of none compliance.

Generally the system and team are great, there are some instances when I have needed an urgent reply to an email, but it has taken a couple weeks for a reponse to come through. Both the HR and payroll system are easy to navigate and talk to easy other which is great!

Employment hero is user friendly and so easy to use. With the click of a button you can automate a variety of Human Resources and Payroll process within you company.
The customisation and ready to use functionality of this software allows you to implement this internally without any need for third party specialist.

Desventajas

Inability and restriction on scheduling report, announcement etc means you cannot customise this .
It will be great if more research and development is done on scheduling reports, announcements etc .

A huge waste of my time and resources! went through all this ridiculous training (4-6 weeks of module after module and calls etc) on the system only for most of it to not even work or be used.
We're cancelling the product and now having to look for a new payroll system because they've ruined keypay since they took ownership too.

I liked the idea that our onboarding could be hosted in one place and seemlessly integrated with our payroll platform.

Desventajas

I hate that it reverts to obsolete settings and constantly messes with the payroll integration. We've actually had to turn it off.
The help desk is worse than useless. their 2fa is buggy and you can't get hold of anyone when you need to.
Employees don't like to be told that their pay can't be processed because we've lost access to the program and no one will either restore it or call us back.

We will be cancelling our contract and looking for a different app. Overall a really frustrating experience, made even more frustrating by the fact I reached out to them with this feedback and just never heard back. For the absolutely outrageously high price it costs it isn't worth it, and there are many other apps out there for cheaper.

It sounds great on paper, but it is far from it.

Desventajas

It is lengthy and difficult to set up, the customer service team takes an average of 3 days to get back to you with answers to any questions you might have, the rostering system is clunky, the app doesn't work for staff, managers can't update rosters via the app and need to log on to a desktop.

Not able to copy and paste an employee's shift to he next day is something that bothers me a lot. Maybe I haven't found this option in the interface yet but having to search hard for something so small is not a great experience.

We have streamlined onboarding, policy management, contract management, Employee documentation and many other processes.

Employement Hero was fairly easy to setup in our organisation and the support was fantastic. It streamlined alot of our HR processes and made it alot easier to onboard and manage our employee.

Desventajas

I feel like the learning module can be enhanced. It is not easy to use and can be optimised.

The onboarding process, performance reviews and surveys

Desventajas

- Policies - the "mandatory " option; staff interpreted that if it is not mandatory, it does not apply to them and they have to knowledge it. Perhaps change to "signature or be able to remove that option."- Emergency contact should be mandatory but it is optional. - updates to the profile directly and not from the "import option" example; be able to change the job title on each profile individually. - it is not a full integration with XERO

The onboarding was the main function, and it doesn't work very well

Desventajas

A few weeks after entering the contract, the company re-vamped the whole site and gave my employees a totally new app. All very confusing having to re-learn the layout etc. Then they 'Bully" me into having to complete their requirements or face an increase in the cost of the contract - at the same time reminding me that I have signed up for 12 months.

A great paperless system

South West Community Transport have been using Employment Hero for 6 months now and it has improved our H.R. immensly. We are now nearly paperless with all our document controls, contracts, training, Performance reviews and procedures. Employment hero makes it very easy for staff to access their personal files at anytime of the day or night from any location and allows management to deliver compulsory reading, updates and most other things electronically.
The system is great, economical and we are not even using it to its full potential yet.
I strongly recommend Employment hero as an electronic alternative to a paper based H.R. system

Desventajas

We could use more flexability to change things within the contracts and also to have the ability to advertise casual roles.

Feature packed software for a HR platform

I'm pretty pleased with it as a whole. With the HR platform, I can aggregate rules and processes for all staff and rest easy knowing that they comply with all applicable laws. It's an excellent payroll solution. The pay stubs are detailed, removing any uncertainty and ensuring that employees are satisfied. I have no hesitation in recommending the program to any SME entrepreneur looking to run their company more efficiently.

Desventajas

There are a lot of well-thought-out functions, and the major drawback is the time and expense of custom contracts and policies are likely to be an aspect of the past. The primary issue is that there's no one-click option to navigate back to the application form after seeing or emailing an agreement to a target; instead, you must do another search or switch to the browser.

The fact we can have up to 350 people inducted and work ready over our peak season the thing we loved most was the ease in which we could do multiple pays per week for the different divisions we have, and the fact employees can access their payslips, leave balances etc is just awesome.
We most definitely saved hours pay day by using this system very happy we made the change to Employment Hero.

We found the system super easy to use once set up had been completed it was a very simple process to move over to Employment Hero - We use a lot of seasonal workers through Cherry season and this system made it so much easier for employees as well as the admin team.

Desventajas

Not so much as liking least but it just took a while to work out which information was where in the menu
